COLOURFUL HANDOVER: The Rise Of Stephenie Korie As She Becomes An Ex- Beauty Queen Of Imo State (Photos)
It
is indeed a great historical experience to have been part of the many
beauty paragons who came to limelight through this Mr and Miss Imo State
Pageant platform.
Stephenie
Korie will forever remember the day she finally handedover her crown to
a new winner after reigning for one full year. It was obviously an
emotional atmosphere on the prestigious night of 16th April 2016 at
Jesus Never Fails Arena, when her majesty formally becomes an ex- beauty queen.
Looking
every inch like a beauty queen that she was and still is, the ex-
winner and Imo state beauty pride reigned supreme during her time with a
project targeted at the aged. She visited the old women, fathers, grand
fathers and grand mothers in villages and communities in Imo state with
food stuffs, medicine, mosquito nets, cloths, beverages, tollieteries
etc on several ocassions. Health for the aged project has led her to
even visit some kings of communities and confirm her presence as a true
daughter of the heartland state. According to her when asked her best
moment in her reign she said " My best moment was seeing an old woman really happy as we got to her during our "Health for the aged" project".
The Soft spoken light skin beauty enters annals of history as few of those beauty queens who campaigned the Kick
Against illiteracy Nigeria project. This had taken her to several
primary and secondary schools in the state as well as held awareness
programmes in rural communities within Imo state. Her
her media tour recently in Abuja buttresses her determination to kick
against illiteracy in Nigeria as highlighted during her interview on
People's Television and NTA International in Abuja.
In truth, nothing much was known about Stephenie korie until
she ascended the ladder of fame with her 2015 victory during the highly
contested Mr and Miss Imo State Queen Nigeria pageant. The discoveries
of personalities since its inception gives credence to the beauties that
abound in the state in particular and Nigeria in general. From Queen Anita, Cynthia Onyekachi, Samantha Ubani, Stephanie Koria to the present 2016 winner Queen
Jacinta Okonkwo, have not only shone like a millions at their emergence
but portray what the golden image of the world should be.
Speaking to cross section of journalists at the venue of event she said while answering questions that her plan
now is to graduate with flying colours as a final year student of
computer science. She stresses that other plans could come in later
maybe after graduating especially with regards to the beauty industry.
Kay as she is popularly called by friends has Mr Anunobi Val Peterson who won a house at the recent MTN Best 11 promo as her project manager while Mr Chris Ikuko is the Chief executive and founder of Mr and Miss Imo State Nigeria pageant.
