Muslims are not Terrorist!!
The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III has expressed dissatisfaction with the way Muslims are looked at because of the violence attributed to some adherents of the religion.
His Eminence, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged Muslims to work hard to remove doubts from the hearts of people about their religion. He said because of the latest events, many people now see their religion in a bad light.
The Sultan made his view public while speaking yesterday in Iwo, Osun State, at the commissioning of a central mosque built in the premises of The Wings Schools. The royal father said the attitude of few Muslim was being used by people to judge the religion, thereby turning it into object of bashing.
His words:-
“Our religion is becoming a whipping boy because people hold it responsible for the misdeed of few individuals. Do not pretend, you cannot afford to be lazy; work for this religion and be peaceful.
“People should know that an individual’s attitude cannot be used to determine what a religion is.
“We must, henceforth, separate behaviour of few individuals from what our religion stands for, because if an individual is bad, religion should not be held responsible. An individual is an individual, while religion will always be separate.”
